You pick up a product from the supermarket shelves and check the ingredients list. E471, sodium benzoate, modified starch... You can read them, but you don't really know what they mean. If your child has an allergy, your partner has dietary restrictions, or you just have your own preferences, interpreting this label is truly a challenge.
PureScan Foods is here to decode that list. It is a food ingredient scanner that analyzes E-codes and additives on food labels.

How does it work?

You can scan food using three different methods:
• Camera (OCR): Take a photo of the label; the ingredients list is automatically read and analyzed.
• Barcode scanner: Product information is instantly retrieved from the OpenFoodFacts database.
• Text input: Simply copy and paste the ingredients list.

🔍 Additive and E-code analysis
For every food scan, additives are categorized by their risk classes. The legal status of E-codes under EU regulations, NOVA food processing levels, and the NutriScore nutrition grade are all displayed on a single screen.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family profiles and allergen tracking
Get automatic alerts for 23 allergens, including gluten, lactose, peanuts, eggs, and milk. You can set up a unique dietary profile and allergen sensitivities for each family member. When you scan a product, compatibility is calculated simultaneously for all profiles.

🤖 Guru: AI nutrition assistant
Guru knows your family profiles and your food scanning history. It answers questions like "What is E249 in this product?" or "Is this product suitable for a vegan diet?" based entirely on your specific profiles.

📚 Additives encyclopedia
Access over 150 food additives with their E-codes, EU legal status, risk class (dangerous/caution/safe), and detailed descriptions. It's a quick reference guide for when you get stuck on an E-code at the grocery store.

🥗 Support for 20 diet profiles
Includes 20 nutritional profiles such as vegan, vegetarian, ketogenic, gluten-free, lactose-free, halal, kosher, FODMAP, Mediterranean diet, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. The EU's 14 mandatory allergens and 9 additional allergens are automatically flagged during every scan.

📊 Food scan history
All your food scans are saved. You can return to a previously reviewed product with a single tap or add a past scan as context to your conversation with Guru.
